This course is intended to help students identify the central ideas in a poem as well as learn how to make sense of the speaker's tone and emotions expressed in a poem. 

The course shall deal with the use of rhyme and rhythm in poetry. It will discuss the different metrical schemes, their forms and applications along with examples. It will also look into the role of rhyme in poetry and how it reinstates the themes and intentions of the poet. 

The course will discuss the different types of literary or poetical devices used in a poem.
